Tina Lincer
Tina Lincer’s passion comes from integrating bold color, texture, and form in a variety of subject matter, including still lifes, landscapes, and portraits. Lincer works primarily in oil, both on canvas and wood, traversing between representational and expressionist. Inspired by artists as diverse as Henri Matisse, Milton Avery, and Helen Frankenthaler, she remains open to experimenting with the subject matter, motifs and mark-making.
An avid gardener, Lincer is captivated by florals and the concept of the vase or vessel. Her still-life paintings feature vases that take on assorted shapes and configurations, while decorative details and patterns saunter across walls and tablecloths. Lincer sees making art, in whatever form, as a conversation with herself and others. It grounds, balances, perplexes, excites, and continually challenges her to let go of expectations and judgment.
