Eliza Whalen
Eliza Whalen’s work explores ideas of finding comfort in one’s identity, embracing femininity, and the bittersweetness of coming of age. Whalen seeks to better understand how we define flexible terms such as “home”, and how we manage to reconcile feelings of suffocation and isolation in spaces meant to act as “home”. She uses illustration and the creation of physically engaging pieces such as zines and dolls to evoke a sense of nostalgia and intimacy with her work - accepting the viewer as an active participant.
