From Friday, December 9, 2022, through Saturday, January 7, 2023, the R Gallery at Arlene’s presents our second annual Juried Small Work Show. The group exhibition features a selection of various media ranging from paintings to sculptures. Each piece will be 8”x10” or smaller. "When narrowing down the selection of work, I wanted to celebrate originality, quality of work, and the cohesiveness of the artist’s submission materials," says juror Rebecca Zeh about how she approached jurying the show.  She went on to say, "it was a big challenge, but also an exciting one, and I am pleased with the diverse selection of work on display. This exhibition has something for everyone and it is a great representation of the plethora of artwork produced by the diverse community of artists we have living and working in our region. This is a great opportunity to add some original, local artwork to your personal collection!"

The Juried Small Workshop Show is a great place to start if you are interested in collecting art. There is definitely something for everyone and you are sure to find the perfect piece to love. Art collecting is personal. It is about buying what you love, enjoying it, and sharing it with others. To spark debate and conversations that enrich our lives. Like your favorite book or song, collecting art makes us feel something and connects us to the core of what makes us human.

“We had 45 artists submit work for the show and Rebecca had the difficult task of narrowing down what would be accepted into the show,” said Gallery Director and Curator, Andrew Ochal. He went on to say “In the end, I feel we have a cohesive group of work that highlights what talented artists live in the area. I have my eye on some pieces and am looking forward to adding them to my collection.”

Juried Small Work Show will be on view at R Gallery at Arlene’s, 57 Fuller Rd Albany NY 12205, starting Friday, December 9, 2022, and will run through Saturday, January 7, 2023. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
