Artist Reception: Friday, May 6th,
from 4:30 to 5:30pm

The R Gallery at Arlene’s is pleased to announce the solo exhibition Takeyce Walter: Nature's Beauty. The exhibition will showcase recent gouache paintings by the award winning artist highlighting her love of nature and the beauty of the Adirondacks. There will be an Artist Reception on May 6th from 4:30 to 5:30pm

“The beauty found in nature often overwhelms me,” shares Takeyce Walter. Takeyce is driven by an ever-present and irresistible urge to capture that beauty and share it with others. Walter’s recent work reflects the beauty she sees in the natural landscape around her. She is most inspired by, and drawn to quiet and peaceful scenes. Walter is forever intrigued by light, and its effects on colors in the landscape. The paintings are of places she has experienced with all my senses, composed with intent to reconstruct the sense of connection she felt with nature.

“My goal when starting a painting is to capture the impression of a place or a moment has left upon me. I need not lay down every blade of grass to capture the mood and atmosphere that originally drew me to a composition.” - Takeyce Walter

Takeyce Walter is an award winning contemporary American painter, media producer, and art instructor living and working in beautiful upstate New York. Driven to create from an early age, Walter has been producing art for as long as she can remember. Currently, her focus has been on the natural landscape of the Northeast. Walter’s paintings present that landscape in all its glory – flowing rivers, majestic skies, and picturesque lakes. There is a great sense of familiarity, tranquility, and reverence in each piece.

In partnership with the Atelier at Arlene's, Takeyce will be offering a  one day workshop,  Spring Landscapes in Gouache Workshop, on Wednesday, May 18th. The workshop will focus on being selective in choosing compositions, the fundamentals of design, color theory and harmony, and aerial or atmospheric perspective and its effects on elements within the spring landscape.

Nature’s Beauty will be on view at the R Gallery at Arlene’s, 57 Fuller Rd Albany NY 12205, from Friday, May 6th through Saturday, May 28th. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm. For more information, please contact the gallery at (518) 482-8881, or email arlenesartist@gmail.com.
