Arlene’s Artist Materials is pleased to now be accepting applications for our Fall series of Makers Market at Arlene’s. Since the Markets began back in 2017, it has been our goal to promote the local creative community while developing a marketplace where people can purchase uniquely crafted items.
The Markets are scheduled to take place outside the store every Saturday starting September 25th through October 30th, from 11am to 4pm. The applications are open to makers of all kinds that would like to not only showcase their creations but also sell them. This is a great opportunity to get your products in front of customers that not only appreciate handmade items but want to support local creatives.
The Markets bring together the best of the best of handpicked vendors from NYS Capital Region and beyond. “There is nothing like a Makers Market day at Arlene’s” says Director of Special Events, Andrew Ochal. “There is this dynamic hustle and bustle of everyone interacting with each other. The energy is so positive and I’m so grateful to be a part of it. It's fantastic to see Makers bonding with people and doing their thing.”
Here’s what are we looking for. Arlene’s is looking for makers, including artists, artisans, and manufacturers that offer well designed quality handmade products. Makers that have a clear voice whether expressed through a traditional medium or something experimental.
The Application Deadline for the Fall Makers Markets at Arlene's is Saturday, August 21, 2021. Selected Makers will be notified by Saturday, August 28, 2021. It is free to apply. Accepted Makers will be charged $25 for the booth space per each date. There are a total of six dates available with a total booth fee for all dates totaling $150. About the Makers Market at Arlene’s: The Makers Markets at Arlene's is an unique marketplace event that happens twice a year at the store.
